Taster classes

In the taster classes you have the opportunity to try something completely new and different. You can choose the tasters you would like to attend spontaneously on site.

For dancers in the Competition or Intensive classes, we recommend that you use the time for Guided Practice instead of the taster classes, in order to repeat and consolidate the topics you have learned. Enjoy working in groups with other participants and actively seek feedback and help from the teachers.

Shag Beginners – Cherry and Filip
This taster class introduces you to the funny and dynamic dance style Collegiate Shag. No previous knowledge required. For Shag teachers, it might also be interesting to see how our teachers structure a beginners class.

Balboa Beginners – Nathalie and Dominik
Welcome to Balboa! Here you will take your first steps in Balboa, the "smooth" and cool swing dance, which you can dance especially to fast music and which ideally complements your other swing dances.

Mid-Camp Recharge – Tanya and Sondre
You danced through 2 days and nights? You feel every bone and muscle in your body? But you still want to dance through Sunday evening? Then this class is perfect for you. Tanya and Sondre have prepared some great exercises to stretch and take care of your stressed body. Please bring a tennis ball or something similar to this class.

Taster classes for Boogie dancers

Saturday

Your own style – Alice and William
In this lesson Alice and William will work with you on aspects of your own style. How can I find my own style? How can I develop it further and work out that ‘little something extra’ without disturbing the harmony of the couple?

Boogie Slow – Elsa and Andy
Slow dancing is not just dancing Boogie to slow music. Elsa and Andy will show you some of the peculiarities, style elements, and possibilities of Slow Boogie.

Sunday

Social Dance with surprises – Zoriana and Thorbjørn
Zoriana comes from Toulouse and Thorbjørn from Trondheim – why does it look like they've been dancing together for a long time when you see them dance? Why do they even manage to do dips and tricks with a partner they don't know? The two of them will share their secret of a good connection and show you how to surprise even unfamiliar dance partners with little tricks.

Taster classes for Lindy dancers

Saturday

Everybody Leads - Everybody Follows – Natalie and Dominik L.
ELEF – i.e. leaders dance follower roles, and vice versa – is a concept that is now part of the standard class portfolio of the Boogie-Bären, and has proven very popular. Changing roles not only opens up possibilities to get to know and understand the "other side" better, but holds unimagined possibilities to even change roles within a single dance. Be prepared for a lot of fun!

Lindy Rueda – Erin, Tami and Scott
The Rueda originally comes from Latin America and is a group dance that is also performed in Salsa in particular. The dancers/couples line up in a circle and dance together, but use certain figures to change partners. Fun and socialising is guaranteed!

Sunday

Partner Charleston Variations – Erin, Tami and Scott
Charleston belongs to the portfolio of basic steps in Lindy Hop. As a couple, you can dance numerous variations together that simply add variety to the dance. Partner Charleston is one of the classic ‘must-dos’ for Lindy dancers, so why not get a little inspiration!
